Inventfood is specialized in taking over your research tasks.

Every time your raw materials, products or processes require deeper technical insights to achieve the desired results and your resources are insufficient, inventfood takes over these tasks.

Even if it seems difficult or almost impossible to develop a product with certain properties, we constantly introduce new aspects by approaching tasks scientifically and thereby focus on the feasibility.  

For our tasks a range of mostly physical-chemical research methods are available to us. Supplementary chemical examinations are usually conducted externally.

  • Karl-Fischer water content determination (temperature controlled)
  • Calcium-sensitive electrode (ISE), Determination of free Calcium

  • Melting point (powder / crystals / gels)
  • Proteincharacterization (distribution, ratio, amount by SDS-PAGE, UREA PAGE)
  • Equlibrium dialysis (receptor-ligand binding behaviour)
  • Kjeldahl total-N-determination (Büchi K370/K371)
  • Mixing bevaviour of viscous masses (torque-measurement; -5°C to 150°C)
  • Dielectric behaviour, permittivity (liquids, viscous masses up to 200kHz; -5°C to 150°C)  
  • Electrical conductivity (liquids, viscous masses, gels up to 200kHz; -5°C to 150°C)
  • Microscopy (different staining methods, polarisation, image processing)
  • Texture measurement (TPA, method development, temperature controlled chamber; 5°C – 80°C)
  • Transmission measurements of films and gels and liquids (temperature and water activity controlled) 
  • UV / VIS measurements and time controlled analysis (190-1100nm; 0°C – 100°C)
  • Turbidity determination of liquids and gels (calibration with standards)
  • Sorption isotherm (up to 10 points; with saturated salt solutions; 0°C- 50°C)
  • Water activity determination (0,020 - 0,998 aw; 0°C – 90°C; dielectric and direct pressure measurements)
  • Water activity determination in presence of other volatiles (mass spectroscopy)
  • Analysis of gas-mixtures (environmental or packaging etc.) by quadrupol MS
  • Diffusion measurements of gases (different compartments, barriers) by MS
  • Rheology: viscoelastic behaviour (rotation, oszillation); yield stress, creep and recovery (Bohlin Gemini 150)
  • 1H-TD-NMR: proton ratios liquid / bound; fat / water ratio; crystallinity of substances; freezing behaviour; free water; gelification behaviour; temperature-time measurements; homogeneity of products; compartmentilization; diffusion (temperature range -80°C to 150°C)  
  • Calorimetry: Heat capacity; heat of solution; crystallisation enthalpy; glass transition; swelling and gelatinization; melting and gelification; denaturation of proteins; transitions and reactions; dehydration (temperature range -120°C to 250°C; gas pressures up to 100bar)
  • Heat conduction (-10°C – 100°C)
  • Ash content (and from that classical analytics of selected elements; titrations; colour-reactions; redox-reactions)
  • Determinatin of dry substance
  • Colour measurements (L*a*b)
  • Fat content determination (Weibull-Stoldt; SOX-unit from Büchi E-816)
  • Total acid determination (e.g. fruit juices etc.)
